Eppur si muove—And yet it moves!
Villa Massimo visits the Japanisches Palais
JAPANISCHES PALAIS
Palaisplatz 11
01097 Dresden
June 24–September 25, 2022
The winners of the Villa Massimo Rome Prize 2020/21 and 2021/22 present their work realised in Rome in the spaces of the Japanisches Palais. Their works address the theme of the vulnerability of individuals, societies, and the nature in which we live.
The state of emergency offers time and space to reflect on the social, political, cultural, psychological but also environmental condition of the present. The exhibition and accompanying events follow the thread traced by the physicist Galileo Galilei, who in front of the Pope was forced to abjure his discovery that we as inhabitants of the Earth are not at the centre of the universe:
EPPUR SI MUOVE – UND SIE BEWEGT SICH DOCH!
