The group show Fragile aims to investigate an individual and collective state of mind, a suspended and apparently undefinable condition that is mobile and fluctuating. The works of the eight featured artists, who differ in age, education, background and language, can be inscribed in this condition.
Over the past year, we have learned better how artistic and cultural ‘consumption’ can and should be replaced by experience. In this sense, art is able to build a new, intimate, inner, and almost domestic dimension, thus establishing a direct and deep relationship with a human being who is no longer just a ‘spectator’, or with a community that is no longer simply an ‘audience’.
It is something that has to closely bound to the distance between truth and fiction, between event and representation:  in other words, fiction appears wanting in a moment such as the one we are experiencing. A suspicion starts to emerge that the fracture that has been created is not temporary, but perhaps destined to widen and deepen, tied to the relationship the artworks have with the context from which they stem and in which they are usually displayed, as well as to the different ways in which the works themselves are perceived and enjoyed/experienced.

It is therefore a matter of (re)embracing the void and the moment, seeking new forms of sincerity, precariousness and spontaneity.

The focus of these works is on relationships, intended both as an encounter and as authentic dialogue. Fragility (also) pinpoints a position of complete openness and willingness to the unordered, the unknown, and the unexpected. That is, the other. This exhibition seeks to illustrate this position by articulating it critically through the works and contributions of the featured artists.
